Manuscript Preparation

Guide for Authors — International Network of Doctors Journal (INODJ)

Authors submitting manuscripts to the International Network of Doctors Journal (INODJ) should prepare their submissions in a clear, concise, and scientifically appropriate format. Manuscripts must comply with the journal’s author guidelines, ethical requirements, and applicable reporting standards. Careful preparation helps facilitate editorial assessment and peer review.

1. General Formatting Requirements

Prepare submissions using Microsoft Word in an editable document format. Use clear, readable fonts like Times New Roman in 12-point size, double line spacing, ~2.5 cm margins, and consecutive page numbering. Use standard abbreviations, SI units, and ensure all tables and figures are properly identified and cited.

2. Title Page

Must contain the full manuscript title, short running title, full names and institutional affiliations of all authors, corresponding author details, ORCID identifiers, and word/table/figure counts where requested.

3. Abstract

Summarizes the purpose, methods, results, and conclusions. Original research articles typically require a structured abstract under headings: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusion, respecting specific journal word limits.

4. Keywords

Provide 3 to 6 relevant keywords to support indexing, discoverability, and retrieval, utilizing standardized terminology such as Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) where appropriate.

5. Main Text

Original research should follow the standard structure: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion. Other categories should adopt a structure appropriate to their purpose.

6. Tables

Number tables consecutively using Arabic numerals with concise titles, cite every table in numerical order, place explanatory notes below, and submit in an editable format.

7. Figures and Illustrations

Include graphs, charts, photographs, or diagrams numbered sequentially with descriptive captions. Ensure image quality is sufficient, patient privacy is protected, and necessary permissions are secured.

8. Abbreviations, Symbols, and Units

Use abbreviations sparingly and consistently, defining them at first mention. Utilize standard scientific symbols and international measurement units.

9. Statistical Reporting

Describe statistical methods, tests, software, significance levels, measures of central tendency/variability, effect estimates, confidence intervals, and exact p-values in sufficient detail.

10. Ethical Statements and Declarations

Provide necessary declarations including Ethics Approval, Informed Consent, Clinical Trial Registration, Funding, Conflicts of Interest, Author Contributions, and Data Availability.

11. References and Citations

Ensure all sources are accurate, verifiable, and cited correctly according to INODJ's prescribed referencing style, maintaining 1:1 correspondence between in-text citations and reference lists.

12. Reporting Guidelines

Follow established reporting standards where applicable, such as CONSORT (trials), STROBE (observational studies), PRISMA (systematic reviews), CARE (case reports), STARD, COREQ, and ARRIVE.

13. Supplementary Materials

Submit supplementary files (extended tables, questionnaires, protocols) if they provide useful supporting data without containing confidential/unauthorized identifiable information.

14. Language and Proofreading

Ensure manuscripts are written in clear, grammatically correct academic English. Check spelling, terminology, and readability thoroughly prior to submission.

15. Pre-Submission Checklist & Final Note

Before submission, verify that your manuscript falls within scope, satisfies category selections, includes a complete title page, structured abstract, correctly cited tables/figures, ethical approvals, complete declarations, accurate references, author approvals, and a prepared cover letter.

Final Note: Authors are advised to review all relevant sections of the Guide for Authors before submission. Manuscripts that do not meet essential requirements may be returned for correction or may not proceed to editorial assessment.
