Copyright & Licensing
International Network of Doctors Journal (INODJ)
The International Network of Doctors Journal (INODJ) is committed to maintaining transparency in copyright ownership, licensing, and the responsible reuse of published scholarly work. This policy explains the rights and responsibilities of authors, the journal, and readers concerning manuscripts submitted to and published by INODJ.
1. Copyright Ownership
Copyright ownership of articles published in INODJ shall be determined by the journal’s publication agreement and the terms applicable to each article. The journal will clearly communicate copyright arrangements to authors before publication. Where copyright remains with the authors, authors retain ownership of their work while granting the journal the rights necessary to publish, distribute, preserve, and promote the article in accordance with the agreed licence.
2. Licensing of Published Articles
The licence associated with each published article determines how the work may be accessed, shared, reproduced, distributed, or adapted. Where applicable, INODJ may publish articles under a Creative Commons licence, which will be displayed with the published article.
3. Creative Commons Licensing
Creative Commons licences provide standardized terms for sharing and reusing scholarly work. Possible licences include CC BY 4.0, CC BY-NC 4.0, and CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The journal must identify the licence actually used for its publications.
4. Author Rights and Reuse
Authors may reuse their published work in accordance with the applicable copyright arrangement. Permitted activities may include sharing with colleagues, depositing in institutional repositories, including in a thesis or dissertation, and reusing portions in future scholarly publications.
5. Third-Party Material
Authors are responsible for identifying third-party material (figures, tables, photos) in their manuscripts. Written permission must be obtained where required by copyright law, and appropriate acknowledgements must be provided.
6. Attribution and Responsible Reuse
Anyone reusing material published in INODJ must provide appropriate attribution to the original author or authors and source, identify the article title, include licence information, and indicate whether changes have been made.
7. Copyright Infringement and Disputes
INODJ takes copyright compliance seriously. Concerns regarding unauthorized reproduction, improper attribution, or potential copyright infringement may be submitted to the editorial office for review and appropriate action.
8. Policy Transparency
The journal will communicate its copyright ownership and licensing arrangements to authors and readers through its official website, publication agreements, and article-level licence statements.
